Hermans Weight
I have had my two Hermans just over a week now. When I first got them I let them settle in for a few days then weighed and measured them. They both came up as overweight on the Jackson Ratio. I have been feeding them food measured to the size of their shell and have weighed them again this week. They have put on one gram in a week. This still makes them overweight. Should I feed them less to make them lose weight? I have been advised not to hibernate them as they are now eighteen months old and I have only just had them so have been told to wait until next year. So I am confused as to whether their weight matters at the moment or not? x

There really is no such thing as an overweight growing tortoise. Any extra weight will just be used to grow.
How much did and do they weigh and how long are they? Danny
