uv help
Hi i have a 2year old horsefield, that i bought last week. PET warehouse were i go for my guinea pig stuff showed me the bulbs i needed but i am thinking now that they have got it wrong, i read up loads on tortoises before i got her and i understood they needed a heat source bulb and a uv, i have a tortoise table, so i decided to get a 100w red heat glo bulb and they showed me a 13w 2 uv full spectrum light so i bought that, something in the back of my mind is telling me she needs alot higher uv, could someone please tell me if im right, and what does full spectrum actually mean. Both bulbs are in holders shineing down not the uv strip one.

I cant get my head around the uv/combi heat lamp? does this mean if you get one of these, uou dont need the basking lamp?? i'm sorry if you think this is a silly Q.S but i'm still learning about different things.and what watt uv strip should you get? 24?? i've seen on some people's pics of enclosure that they have the baskiong bulb at one end,but further down on the same side they have the uv,is this best for them? x kel

That bulb provides heat for basking and UV for their health. It is £50 but works out cheaper in the long term. Strip lights need replacing every 6 months but the megarays last up to 2 years Last edited by Alan1; 26-04-2009 at 01:47 PM. |

Are combined UVB bulbs better than one basking lamp and one UV bulb or is it just for convienience sake?
And which ones are actually better? |
