correct wordage
this one is for our american visitors please can you explian the differences between tortoises, turtles and terrapins
i know dan has explained it to me before but i cant remember i know it had something to do with brackish water or something

Ive always thought it was
Turtle... sea living Terrapins... Fresh/Brackish water living Tortoise... Land living. I could be totally wrong.

Sea turtles live in the sea Terrapins live in brackish water at the sea's edge Turtles live in freshwater, though some can be very terrestrial (they have back feet) Tortoises live on land and have stumpy back legs (no feet) Danny

just to confuse the matter even further, australians call all shelled things 'tortoises' exept sea turtles!
