Thanks Wendy, good meeting and fantastic lemon cake! Mark's great, we spent a lovely half hour earlier this week too, at his surgery, he answered all our queries whilst he gave two of our torts a checkup, couldn't wish for a better vet. Nice to meet you and did I say "fantastic" cake! Your not by any chance on a cake forum too are you

Glad you all had a great time and enjoyed the (cakes! ) tortoise meeting. 49 people attended and I totally agree, Mark was a brilliant speaker and his presentation was so detailed he didn't leave a thing out. I am delighted to say he has agreed to return next year
Thanks to everyone who helped and offered advice.

Can you get a cake hangover?
Got to say, thought Mark Rowlands talk today was excellent covering both the basic essentials and the more in depth aspects of the hibernation process. A very good meeting indeed. I wish I could have mingled a bit more so apologies once again to the Shelled Warriors folk I didn't get to talk too. Next time. |

I wish I could have been there, but had to work. I'm glad it went well and I really hope to make the next one, especially if there's cake!

There was a guy at the meeting yesterday who I recognised but couldn't think how I could have known him. He had a chat with Sandy, I was next to them and I recognised his voice too. It's been bugging me, you know what it's like when something like that happens, you can't stop thinking about it, where on earth could I know him from? The penny has finally dropped, he's one of the dog trainers on the tv show Dog Borstal......We had a celebrity tv star in our midst! Wendy it's him you should have been discussing the possibility of choosing your new dog with not me
