Default growth spurt question.

Is it ok for a tortoise to have a major growth spurt?
Ive a 4yr old female that is a good eater all the time but the past few weeks seems to have doubled in size.

Mighty quinn, its strange isnt it.
My first tort myself and my friend bought one each. Hers was massive mine was tiny but now 15yrs later mines bigger than hers, both females.
This growth spurt has me worried though because she was the same size as her sibling two weeks ago and is getting bigger by the day. I feed them not too much for slow growth n smooth shells but her growing is just crazy right now. Shes shedding alot too.

Do you think it will harm her or do you think shes just catching up to were she should be because she hardly grew over winter.

I don't follow the don't grow too fast philosophy, so no I don't think it will do any harm. Mine have put on a good 6cm in a year and have grown smooth and seem healthy, have always just let them eat as much as they like it seems to have worked for me, I did make sure they stayed well hydrated of course...

Ok thankyou very much ill just go with the flow then.
Never experienced a tortoise just suddenly get big like this before, . She does seem to be relishing this weather too while its too hot for the others.
Strange girl haha
