Jodie rescued 2 from the nursery she works at. They weren't being looked after by the colleague who brought them in so Jodie took over their care. This woman was filling their water bottle from a puddle, never gave them hay and only fed them pig food, no veg at all. The hutch they were living in was leaking and open to the elements. Instead of cleaning them out this awful woman just added straw on top of sodden rotting straw. they wouldn't sleep in the box end because it was so wet. So when winter set in and Jodie found them shivering and soaked in their own urine she took them home and so far has refused to take them back. The woman went on maternity leave so has given up asking her to bring them back. Jodie said when she emptied their water bottle one time, there were dead slugs in it. The poor things were emaciated and frightened of people. She's won them round, they now live in a cage in her kitchen and have a wonderful life. She also bought 2 more so now has 4 piggies.
Good for Jodie! It makes me so sad when I hear people buy animals and then don't bother to care for them properly. I'm sure Jodie is giving them a wonderful life now.
It's fantastic what you did for Evie. Now you've got Ditto to nurse. It must feel very fulfilling, Wendy.

It is rewarding Emma. When I was at school our careers teacher asked what we wanted to do. I said I would like to be a vet, a nanny or work in a plant nursery. I didn't achieve any of them directly but I have fulfilled all of them. I brought up 4 children, have all the animals I could ever want and grow all the plants I want for the garden and the allotment. So I am a happy fulfilled person. Just shows there is more than one way to skin a cat.

No she was born OK but the breeder said she left the nest box and just stayed on the floor. She could perch but not very well. Then she lost that ability too. She's seen a vet who said she is otherwise healthy.
