You must be so relieved, Louise. He must be feeling settled in enough to eat. I'm sure they'll both be tucking in properly very soon.

Thanks, yes i am relieved!! its strange, Swarley seems the more timid one, he is not overly comfortable with me yet. Sheldon on the other hand is quite happy when i pick him up, he doesn't withdraw or struggle and has explored more and slept in a variety of places. Swarley tends to hide in the same place and pulls into his shell more. I'm trying to keep them in a routine, lights on at 7, then if they haven't come out themselves by 11.30 (so far they haven't) i wake them up and put them in the basking spot. then leave them to do whatever they fancy through the day (hide pretty much) then about 7pm get them out for a bath, then put them in front of the food and hope they eat some! then lights out at 9. i talk to them when i'm in the room, and they seem to be quite happy to walk around with me watching. just looking forward to them being fully settled so i dont have to worry so much! they are so gorgeous, im so lucky!!! wow what an essay... whoops Louise

I don't know if it makes a difference but I cut the food for my little ones, they seem to like having bite size pieces. I do spoil them, lol

that's what i have been doing, yesterday was the first day i tried a whole leaf in case they didn't like me interfering.. he stripped a massive leaf himself! think ill do a mix, chop up half and leave half a bit bigger. i also put another mini feeding slate in their table with succulents on, cactus etc.. to see if that tempts them! ill be searching out more treats to get them interested in the food then reduce the amount until there is just weeds left. time will tell! (i'm a spoiler too.. you should see the stash of fish and seafood i have in the freezer for stinkpot!) Louise x

OMG... Sheldon is eating!!! seems a week was the limit for them both He polished off far more than Swarley too...
Sheldon eating lots of lettuce and a little bit of dandelion.. Sheldon polished off 2 lettuce leaves the size of his shell, plus the stalk that Swarley nibbled round last night... Sheldon ate like a machine! i can see now why he is bigger, Swarley nibbled quite slowly and stripped the soft leaf from the stalk in the middle, but Sheldon ate every scrap in half the time! Oh i am SO HAPPY!!! They both however left all the weeds apart from a small piece of dandelion. But im not going to complain.. success!! Louise
