Default Abandoned tortoise: advice needed

Hi, I posted earlier about the tortoise that my friend found in her garden at the weekend. It had been abandoned by its previous owners. I'm now looking after it. I have no idea what kind of tortoise it is. Can anybody help. I've attached photos. It measures 5 and a half inches long (not including head) and 4 and a half inches wide. It's very sprightly for a tortoise that's been hibernating in the garden. I've only just brought it home so I'm yet to bathe it. Not sure of the sex. It has a longish tail if that's any help.

Really? OMG! How can you be sure? What are the main differences to look out for? I would've thought that turtles had flipper like limbs. Monty appears to have proper legs and claws! Plse advise.

Most definitely a turtle Needs a wash and to be put in some water. Take some pictures after she is cleaned off and then we can tell species
