Well, you didn't miss much Alan. I hate the 80s music basically for the same reason as you. There wasn't any real music, it was all that electronic rubbish. Give me a good guitar solo any day.

Dire Straits kind of saved the 80's a bit though I also didn't know a lot about them until later on after they'd been on the go for years. REM, did they start in the 80's? They were ok
