It really is like reading a printed page. There is no backlight like a computer so you can't read in the dark without an extra light, that's why my DH bought the cover for it as it has a built in light that is powered by the Kindle. It's very expensive though, £50 ish.
The battery lasts for ages too, a month with charging if you turn off the wifi. And the download is so quick, you can't believe anything can download a whole book in seconds. There is one problem though, I will have to live for 300 years to read all the free books let alone the others.
