Curiouser and curiouser.....it seems you may never know. Thank goodness the chickens are all okay though. Any injuries would have been obvious by now and as you say, the chickens themselves would have been caked in blood.
If only animals could talk.....
Mind you, we'd never get any peace then!

Some of my animals can talk and believe me there is no peace. One parrot shouts hello, another tells him to shut up, then one shouts what's a matter the other says what's going on. Then when we start laughing the African grey laughs too, or he farts and laughs, and he always burps when we eat, one of them even makes a noise like sucking your fingers when we eat crisps. It's a laugh a minute.

My parents had a cockatoo who could imitate the phone ringing perfectly. As my mum would trot along to answer it, Benji would should 'Quick, Quick, telephone!'

If only she'd learnt to make burping and farting noises, that would have been hilarious as my mum would have hated it!
