Default Kent/South London Meeting "hibernation" 17.10.09

Here are the details of the October 2009 tortoise meeting held by 'Just Me and my Tortoise'.

Venue: Keston, Kent (near Bromley)

£2 per adult and £1 per child

Trinity Veterinary Centre, Maidstone

“Hibernation: what you need to do to sleep easy!”


Abstract:
Hibernation can be a worrying time for the owner and a potentially dangerous period for a tortoise. This talk aims to go through the hibernation period highlighting any pitfalls; then go on to discuss post hibernation problems, their diagnosis and management and will be illustrated with clinical cases seen at our hospital.


Followed by Tea / coffee, question time and informal get-together

There are lots of posts/questions in the Mediterranean section on hibernation - from different methods, when to hibernate, weights before hibernation and general health etc. Hope you have all found this post advertising our hibernation meeting; it is a great opportunity to talk to other SW keepers, share your experiences and ask as many questions as you want. We also have JG Books coming along so you can buy reptile books.
