No. When lining all our cattle fields with the stuff,a directive came from the man at M inistry----Barbed wire is now illegal ´cause it´s dangerous---some thieving git might catch their trousers on it. Henceforth and evermore it must be banished from the land. We had rolls of the stuff. Made all our fencing electric after that---problem with that as well as you had to have a big notice everywhere saying it was ALIVE!!!! In case some thieving git touched it and shrieked a bit for a second or two.

its at times like this you realise how BAD things have gotten.
if someone's caught thieving they deserve a whack with a big stick,no questions. |

Our place in England was near a speedway stadium and we had a paddock near the house alongside the road. One night we were lying in bed when we heard some lads coming from the speedway who´d obviously had too much to drink and we heard one of them shout out ¨WooHoo ponies, let´s go havvalook¨ 30 seconds later there was an almighty scream as he touched the electric fence!

It mustn't be banned in Scotland because I saw guys putting up a brand new fence today and it was one of those round posts - square wire mesh -green tinted and barbed wire for the single the top wire

It may be just a local thing, with some councils allowing it and others banning it. Ours banned it!
