Exclamation Redness in the shell????

I was bathing my tort this morning and notice these 'redness' in her shell. It didn't seem to be here yesterday but maybe I wasn't careful enough in the inspection.

Could anyone please tell me what's going on??? I am super worried right now!!

I'm not too sure but the red mark at the bottom of the shell could be a bruise. I'm sure someone with more of an idea will be along to advise you soon.

Could be septicemia or a bruise. An expert will be along to give more advice soon.

I agree with the others, may be worth taking her to see a vet

I'd keep an eye on it for the next day or so and if the redness spreads in the next day or so get to a reptile vet as soon as possible.

Just brought her to the vet - tho not a specialist. He said doesn't seem like septicaemia but he can't be certain. He did suggest it could be bruising or contact dermatitis...nth much I could do today but to observe for a day or two...

Hope she's fine now...she's eating fine and did seem quite active. Hope it's just bruising...

Hopefully that's all it is Derek. She might have bashed herself on a rock. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

It looks like a bruise to me, I thought septicaemia starts along the lines? Lilly has had a small bruise like that although it was higher up the plastron and faded after a few days x

Day 2 update...the red flush underneath the plastron still there but hasn't spread. I am taking it as a good sign as I imagine if it's septicaemia then it would progress quickly??Will continue observe...
