I am sadly selling my 4 year old Horsfield Tortoise (Sasha). The reason is because as he is becoming an adult, he is constantly fighting with his older brother (Sydney, our 6 year old Horsfield). They have been perfect together for the early part of thier lives but not now that they have become sexually active males. Sasha is the smaller of our two Tortoises but definately the more dominant one. I've separated them on occasions but I don't have the room to separate them on a permanent basis.

Sasha eats daily (never missed a single meal), drinks regularly and poos daily. It took a while but now he loves being handled. As an occasional treat he loves to sleep whilst wrapped up in a soft warm towel whilst I watch the tele (yes, seriously!) He has been fed mostly on weeds, plus occasionally fruit (he loves melon and grapes in particular).

Around 12 months ago Sasha visited our local reptile specialist who prescribed him with some eye drops to clear up conjunctivitis in his left eye. Fortunately that cleared up within 5 days and has never returned. At that time the specialist examined Sasha and said that he had a healthy weight to size ratio. He currently weighs 242 grams and his shell is approximately 100mm long. Sasha has never been hibernated and lives in an open top tortoise table with temperature controlled heat lamp and separate UV lighting. During the summer months he spends time at my mothers house in the garden.
