Default Height of the heat emitter?

I am using a 150W ceramic heat bulb to raise the ambient temperature of the enclosure since my tort is sick and is on antibiotics...can anyone tell me the minimum height for it to work best?

I have it connected to a habistat dimmer stat, where should I place the probe if my bulb is at the centre of the enclosure?

Although you are using a dimmer stat I would recommend you spot check the temperature in various places in the enclosure using a decent thermometer. This is because the thermostat will be controlling the temperature where the probe is, but very different temperatures might result in other places.
