You only have to see some bootleg DVDs being sold on ebay, and purses, handbags,clothes...there are alot of fakes about and you cant necessarily tell the difference - thats how good these people are at it! Hell, some DVDs its almost impossible to tell it from the real thing.
Not saying there are not some genuine sellers with genuine products but is it worth taking that chance finding out?? Once its bought, its bought and again to quote Sarah, would they offer a refund or replace it if its duff??
Its your decision but think about your tort and is it worth it just for the difference of 5 or 10quid buying it from a reputable website or shop?
xx
A very good point. I'd always advise anyone buying online from eBay to use PayPal. This is a bit like buying online with a Visa rather than Debit card. The protection is built in to the system. The products are available from several sources on eBay. The one I have purchased from is a store, and someone I've bought from before. Hagen offer a 6 month warranty, just make sure you download and print a receipt - as with anything else, always keep your receipt.

As soon as either of the big boys get their acts together and bring out a reliable product I will switch to one of those as the Solar Glo only has a short life by all accounts anyway.

Oh, and Yuna, stop Thread Jacking hehe

Regards to all. Now get out and enjoy the sunshine before it starts raining!

I noticed in my local reptile shop recently that they only have the Solar glo professional for sale now so I shall be interested to see if you get a response about how that differs.

I got a response, it's just a new change in packaging. I think they are trying to push more the fact that Professional breeders use them.

Thank you that is useful to know, I'm in a similar position myself at the moment, I've had my solar glo bulb for six months so it probably needs a change, I'm unwilling to try megaray at the moment and would like to see what the new bulbs are like so I shall probably go for solar glo again in the short term.

Well you can't knock them for service. Ordered yesterday, arrived today. Lamp in very good order, and if it is a fake they've gone to a lot of effort. Spike seems happy with it.

for only £19,75 (when logged in!)

I've got my lightbulbs from that store (the German version of that store).
