New box turtles
Couldn't resist them. Two new Three Toed Box Turtles collected from the breeder today.
They're quite small |

PS I notice you have plants and moss in there be warned they will eat both!
Moss is not good for them until they get a little older. Watch them carefully in case they start eating it!!!

ooo they are gorgeous, congratulations. The markings on their scutes remind me of little suns surrounded by beams The more box turtles I see the more I am falling for them!

Thanks Gruffalo
And Boxgirl, I will watch the moss. I was warned on this forum before against using it before but whilst indoors until the spring I feel that the benefits outway the risk and I know a few breeders who have used it without issue. They'll be getting something a bit more permanent tomorrow, with plenty of my usual potting compost, coco fiber, sphagnum mix. These two are 07 hatchlings, by small I meant by comparison to some of my other chaps... |

Thanks Alan,
I just noticed that the one on the right is a four toed, three toed box turtle. She's got an extra one on the back foot. Last edited by Kirkie; 14-03-2010 at 01:52 AM. |
