eggs
on the 15th dec my thb laid 6 eggs.how do i know if they are fertile and how long should i leave them before i dispose of them.i thought that the should have hatched by now

So by my calculation they've been incubating over 90 days. Have your tried candling the eggs? Possibly have a little torch to shine through them? My first inkling is that they are infertile as they usually hatch or begin to hatch at 60 days onwards. Candling them will confirm this as the eggs will appear to be empty with no signs of development. Did you notice any chalking in the early days of incubation?

she did have 5 eggs in aug two weeks after i bought her, we left them until jan and then opened one and there was only a yolk in it so we looked at the rest and then disposed of them.

ijust looked at the eggs as you said and they seem to be dark on the bottom and light at the top but i cannot see any sighn of life in there

It perhaps sounds like your male isn't quite doing the job yet if your not getting any development. Don't worry though as this can take time. How big is your male?

my male is only 5 ins but hes not the dad......the shop said they think she was mated before i bought her

Well given that you've had now two dud clutches I think you'll have to wait until your male is expressing an interest before you start incubating eggs again.

ive opened two and they are like the last ones... just yolks it was worth a try, thank you for your help helen its put my mind at rest and the incubator a break. thanks again
