Help need opinions
Hi everyone,
A question for you'll, whenever I feed my Radiated's salad mix, their poop comes out very wet, soft and not like it usually does with Mazuri pellets which is hard and easy to pick up. Also their behavior has changed ever since they have been passing out wet poop(close to diarrhea), they wander around a lot more rather than sleep. The feeling I get is their very uncomfortable. They have been passing a lot of wet mushy poop and their weight has dropped from 800 to 700 grams in just 2-3 days after eating salad mix. I took their poop to the vet to have it tested and all is fine. This is not the first time this is happening, I'll just stick with Mazuri/hibiscus next time. Usually I give them salad mix once a month. Am I the only one here facing this problem? |

Plantain is good. Full of fibre. Great for tortoises. It's very pleantiful at the mo. Perhaps you could introduce other weeds slowly. My boys love lettuce and my OH is naughty giving it to them.

Thought giving them salad mix once in a while would be good, guess it was to much for them. If I plan to in the future, it will be in much smaller amounts mixed with Mazuri but I don't think I will. The Mazuri only diet is what I am going to stick to which is what I used to anyway. Was in the supermarket and saw this salad mix on the shelf so I thought I'd be innovative, well being innovative=diarhea.

It is but because of the nutritional value it does not fill the tortoise. This is why it is recommended to feed greens or hay... to fill the tortoise.
