As Ann has said, the pre Alpen cobs could be your best bet to get fibre into the diet if your struggling. I use it wet too, then I just sprinkle on the food and shake up and indeed it does stick to the food. I think Jonesy (SW Member) sells it but not sure if she's about too much on here at the moment. I'm not sure if the SW shop sells it. There are also legitimate eBay stores that sell it too.
You might want to buy a small tester amount of the different varieties of the cobs first and see how your tort adapts to it. There's more than one 'flavour' and you might find torty is picky with it at first. But persevere and it should help with the poo factor if it gets harder to find fibrous weeds.
One thing I do keep saying is that we can all say this and that weed is still growing and is available. But it doesn't mean it's available where YOU live.
I know that people are still finding lots of sow thistle for instance...but can I find a good patch where I live? Nope..and I've hunted high and low.
So it does depend...you could be lucky and have an abundance of edible stuff growing, but you might live in a city or estate that just hasn't got much about, apart from a few patches.
Keep at it though. xx

Hi Jade, having just bought some and done a little research on costs I found the best value on here. Look in the Shelledwarriors shop I have just ordered 1kg of Pre Alpin herb for £9 delivered.

Go into the Shelledwarriors shop, at the top left under Free Postage click to open this will lead you onto the correct page. On the page the upper left shows a picture of an upside down tortoise.
Below the tortoise is The Pre Alpin Testudo Herbs click on the picture and then the item you want is the top left.
I think it is the name "cobs" which cause the confusion. The Pre Alpin is compressed into small cobs/nuts during manufacture.
My tortoise are only babies so I soak ONE in a little water before use (I sprinkle it onto weeds at the moment)
I do the same with Testudo baby, but only plan on using each on occasion ,whilst weeds are about.

I think the Pre Alpin products are good. Any of them - I find the differences between them really small.

But I think they are meant mostly for Mediterranean species and might not be suitable for Jade's pet.

Testudo Baby is amazingly expensive and I've not been able to find out why. It's basically the same stuff that in it, but ground up smaller.

I did ask Jonesy why Baby is so amazingly expensive but she didn't reply.

I have bought Pre Alpin from the shelled warriors shop and from The Tortoise Lady which is Jonesy.

Hi Jade I feed my tortoises stuff that I wouldn't eat myself. They have a different digestive system to me. If needed, food with long fibres can stay in the tortoise gut for a long time to break down.

If I put that stuff into my gut it would leave again very quickly and I wouldn't be able to extract any nutrient from it.

Just bought from shelled warriors
Thanks
It doesn't have as high crude fibre as my Timothy hay so I'm going to use it replace the weed/flower mix from shelled warriors and still use Timothy hay too

I asked tortoise table about it and she said its a great idea too!
