Hi CB, yes, the reviews on Amazon were really poor? I'll have another look. Great idea about the Wolfgang book, he's a member of our local library, so he can order it from there, if he likes it, I'll get it for him. Thanks for the suggestions xx

Both Andy and Nadine Highfield of The Tortoise Trust have good basic books with some nice photo's and cover most you need to know without being to hard to read, worth a look.

there's obviously people who don't always like/agree with the TT but I had one of the books and found it very usefull, covering basic care very well and easy to understand. There are many books that cover far more in depth details but those might make heavy reading for the average owner and are aimed at the specialist.

I printed off the Tortoise Trust booklet on looking after Tortoises - for free. Although I printed off in black and white you could print off in colour, so that it looks a little more professional.
