red foot age ?
Is there an easy way of telling how old a tort could be? The lady I got my Herbie (red foot) from said that he was 18 to 24 months old. But today IV seen a fed foot in the pet shop that they said was 18 months old and it was half the size of Herbie. Herbie is 5” by 4” and weighs 454g. Also is this a good weight for his size? x

Hi
It's very difficult to tell a tort's age by it's size, as well as their growth rate varying from tort to tort, it depends on diet, UV and so on. |

its very difficult to determine age via size of the tortoise, as bindi said there is many parameters that effect the amount of growth against time. There is a theory on years by growth rings but again many growth rings can appear in one year so pretty useless really
