Its the larvae that nibble the goldfish. They can stay in the water for a few years before turning into dragonfly. The larvae climb up stalks of pond weed and then the beautiful dragonfly pops out!! I managed to catch the action in our garden pond in the summer. A few years previous we managed to photograph two dragonflies 'doing the business' so to speak!! X x x. Stellanne, now we are talking ! fabulous photographs. Bob sat on a stone next to me. aren't they exquisite. I only posted cause run out of popcorn waiting for Gordon (to post) but I think we should find out more.....What are the blue ones - they are magnificent. CB x

I could just stare at dragonflys for ages. We filled in our deep pond it had loads , the dog pushed me in once, but they still come back every year. CB x

The smaller ones are mayflies, the large green and blue ones are dragonflies.

And the medium sized ones are damselflies.
There is a belief that when you see a dragonfly it is a loved one who has passed away. X x x. Hugs x x x |
