1 mvb and 1 heat lamp?
I have the Megaray 120 watts MVB with the Exo Terra glow lamp for my tortoise table on one end. Should I also add another heat bulb which I have lying around in say the middle section of the tortoise table? The table is 4 feet in length so I know I have room to put two lamps and still have a good heat gradient. Please advise.

Shouldn't be any need in a 4ft table for more then 1 bulb.

Sometimes people add more ordinary light though if it's in a low light position but I've no idea if stars prefer high or low light

Best to use a full spectrum flourescent tube for that as not to upset temperature gradient, if thats what you are looking for.

Sometimes with just the one light source(your MVB) one end can be a little low on light levels. So you can add another light source at that end, usually a flourescent as not to add any additional heat to that end.
