I would say the private part of a male tortoise is a bit like a third leg at the back and they can drag it on the ground if they want to show off (which they do a lot)
I have a hedgehog and his private part is the size of a leg. (the things we talk about!) |

You do not want to see a male redfoots 'bits'. Luckily they don't seem to show off much. I've only seen it a couple of times but the image is burned into my brain forever! I had to drive somewhere shortly after and the thought kept returning to my head. Had to tell myself to stop thinking about it and concentrate on driving! Imagine the claim form 'how did the accident happen...' 'well officer - a disturbing thing happened earlier today'

My first Leopard Evie was my little darling - one day I was watching her and this thing came out from her tail - I phoned a friend who is well up on tortoises - she siad to put her in the bath as she appears to be having a prolapse - it did go back in and I was so relieved.
Then in happened again so I phoned my OH - he rushed home from work and we drove her to our vets 45 mins away - I was frantic. I explained to the vet that she was having a prolapse and he got out a book and showed me this weird looking thing and said " your Evie is a Stevie" - that info cost me £30 - from then on he would not stop parading it - I used to tap him on the head - try and feed him - stick him in a washing up bowl - all to try and get him to put it away - it is by far one of the most horrid looking male parts I have ever seen !!! |
