Indian Star Diet

We have acquired two indian stars about a month ago and have been feeding them a mixture of weeds and grass, We have the Jerry Fife book on indian stars which says they can eat carrots, peppers and pumkin. What's people's thoughts on this please?

Peppers and pumpkin is fine.

I'd steer clear of carrots and go with butternut squash instead.
