Flying ants?
Hiii,
Just wondering if flying ants can cause any problems to tortoises? If they're ingested or if they bite a tortoise? There are a lot around my way lately and im wondering if they will harm mine? Thanks Scott x

We've got loads in our garden too, horrible things. I have to keep checking the outdoor enclosure (the coldframe part) for them and I'm now getting paranoid as we've already had two ants nests (normal red ants, not flying) in there in the same place. Grrr! I have no idea what, if any, problems they can cause to the torts though, maybe someone else on here will be able to advise.

I have masses in my pens and they've never caused the tortoises any problems. I think it is fantastic to watch them swarming.

We've had loads too Scott. The seagulls are having a field day gobbling them up!
