A brilliant day
Today I found lots and lots and lots and lots of Plantain, it was Flo's first try of the stuff, and she seemed to like it. Is it a 'feed in moderation' weed or not? I have just come back from another walk and I found some Red Clover. It's another thing that Flo hasn't tried yet, so brilliant: more variety.
I'm also very excited at the moment as I am in a position now to offer another female Horsfield's tort a home. Now that Flo has been sexed with your help (thanks Danny, and everyone else) I can start to look at finding a female Horsfield's to go with Flo. I want to rehome one, so am looking at all the sites, and hopefully the ideal one will come up soon, which isn't a ridiculous distance away LonesomeGeorge

Ha ha - isn't it funny how we can get so excited about finding weeds Plantain is a "safe to feed" and very good for Flo
Good luck with finding a companion for Flo - sure something will come up on one of the sites Best to quarantine any new arrival 'tho to protect Flo and the newbie

As Lynne says, a quarantine period is advised if you're hoping to home a new tort.
Plantain is one of the best weeds about as it's full of fibre.

I didn't realize how obsessed I would become about being a Tortoise owner! It is very exciting finding new weeds

It is! I'm a self-confessed weed nerd.

Yes, going on a weed walk is the alternative to a dog walk, with strange looks included ( from passers by ) tons of plantain round here, but I'm struggling to find thistles.

I kill 2 birds with one stone and take the dog with me on weed walks.
I have been known in the past to knock on people's doors to get permission to trim privet bushes for stick insect food, so I may have to start doing it to get permission to weed someone's garden

I know, I do get some weird looks as well, but if you see some weeds, you just can't resist. I walked past a gigantic Vetch collection today, they were just in front of a wall in front of someone's house. I was tempted to take the whole lot, but thought that would be a step too far! I'm worried I've got the mindset of a weed criminal "Quickly, smash, grab, pull out those weeds!"
