Please identify Fred
Hi, my mum got Fred when she was about 13 and he died when I was around 11, so he was in our family for a long time. These photos are before I was born, so he grew to be a lot bigger than this. I'm just interested in finding out what species Fred was, because we never really had the resources to find out back in the day. The internet is a wonderful thing

When I found these photos yesterday I thought Testudo Graeca Ibera at first, but I am by no means an expert, pure guess work.

Looks like a Moroccan spur-thigh to me, Testudo graeca marokkensis. Fred was most likely a female.
