Well a woman that I know about because of my work had a problem with her kids trampoline. It was huge and it blew off down the street and blocked the road. The police had to come and move it.

BBC News reporting on the wind from Cornwall this morning Why do they send reporters out to stand in wind, rain, snow and floods to report on stuff, just film it and do the speaking from inside the BBC van

It was a waste of time anyway because it was too windy for the camera crew (60mph gusts ) so she reported by phone.. but out in the open so that everyone could hear the wind. 97mph was recorded in the west of Scotland earlier this morning.

Severe gales are affecting parts of the United Kingdom.

Gusts of over 50 mph are being reported across Wales, Northern Ireland, western Scotland and western England. Many other parts of the UK are reporting gusts of over 40 mph. The strongest gust reported so far was 97 mph at Islay in Scotland at 0600hrs. The strongest winds are expected to spread over mainland Scotland over the next few hours. Updated 07:01 03/10/2012

Very blowy here too. Plenty of trees down in the area. I'm glad I don't have to go out today.

Hmm, the guy who's house is behind my neighbour's house - half the roof of his metal shed has took off and landed on a van, the rest of the shed is looking like it could end up in my garden, hope it doesn't burst my windows. He is away on holiday

Hope the winds die down soon. Broken windows are a pain in any weather but particularly with strong winds and driving rain. I hope his shed stays put!

It's getting really scary here. We have a 15ft trampoline trying to make a bid for freedom. If it goes it will cause untold damage to our chicken shed, our fence next doors fence and who knows what else in it's path. Our next door has an 8 ft trampoline too.

Hubby has been out and tied the trampoline to a tree so that should stop it. But next doors fence panels look dodgy. If they go they could smash through our conservatory where the torts, guinea pigs and rats are. God it's scary.

Next door's fence is down. My clematis is now on the floor needing new trellis and it was very dodgy out walking this morning. However, the wind has dropped in the last half hour. Hopefully that's it for Kent.

Yeah it's gone eerily quiet, but don't count your chickens, it could be the eye of the storm. Talking of counting chickens, I'd better make sure mine are all still there.

Where in Kent are you?
