Up the temps to 90 under the lamp? This will raise the rest of the enclsure, plus its getting warmer in general now anyway...but i keep his windows a jar for fresh air
Thank you very much Sue, you have put my mind at rest somewhat. I appreciate it |

Yes it is, i have not found them to be a problem so far, and it reads the same as my house thermometer (when placed on the table) but i will look into getting a digital one

Seriously, i'm willing to try ANYTHING Also, i have read time and time again the horsfields are hardy little thinsg when it comes to temperature, so i wouldn't think it would matter too much even if it was out a couple of degrees (which i haven't noticed) I just keep mine as stable as possible though |

Sorry to hear you are worried .. he will be fine and we are all hear to help
As linda says those thermometers are not very good i used them when i 1st started keeping torts they where in the bin in weeks .. Dazza on the forum sell excellent ones for about £8 if that is a trex and you are useing it both for uv and heat it need to be hung from above the anclosure to get a correct temp.. you will have to play about with the height as it also depends on background heat this can be done with a chain and hook luv becks xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

does any one with far more experience than me
think oscar might benefit from some "critical care" to replenish the good bacteria that may have been removed by the worming and oral baytryl ? especially as he is eating very little |

sorry to hear about your problems kay. i think us totrtoise owners panic a lot because we love them soooo much. when i got elliott it took months for elliottto settle in properly. like oscar he wouldnt eat and he wasnt very active and slept all the time. 6 month on and he is just like any other tortoise and is now perfectly settled in
