Traveling with eggs
Is it possible to travel in a car for a couple hours with tortoise eggs?

I read on http://tortoiseinfo.org/index.php I think it was, that someone did an experiment and sent some eggs through the post to a friend and he hatched them. I think that's how it happened, I know they were sent across the state somewhere.

we had to move house with eggs, hatchlings and adults and they were all fine, I wedged each individual egg wrapped in tissue into egg boxes these were then placed in the poly box which was my incubater at the time. The box was wedged on blankets and wrapped in a sleeping bag, all this was to stop the eggs being shaken or moved and we lost very little heat during the journey which was several hours, the other choice was to consider a cool/heat box that would run from the cig lighter, however our move was in the summer so heat wasn't a prob. Its the stopping movement/vibrations though that were our main concern, anyway they all hatched safely.
