How is everyone getting on with their coco coir? I am thinking of getting some to use with my tortoise life. Are people still liking it?

Love it still, when it drys out it doesn't go dusty like soil does, just dry. Wet and turned it today and looks good as new, been in a good 2 months now. Not as heavy as soil either.

That looks really good Jem, which one do you use? Do you use the pets at home one?

I cleaned mine out today and decided to mix top soil and coco coir, as I've found CC dries out quicker than top soil, but it's nice and soft so the little torts really like to bury themselves in it. So I thought mixing would be the best of both. It's made a really nice mix.

I brought the pets at home one about a month ago, after reading on here about coco coir and happening to be in there anyway I thought I'd get some just to try out. I much prefer it to topsoil as there is no dust. Under my lamp it tends to dry out a fair bit but I mix it and turn it over and it's fine about once a week I use a little watering can and wet it all again and it's fine.

Thanks for the comments everyone I just went to pets at home and got some and will hopefully be putting it in my torts table over the weekend
I'm using tortoise life which I like but it dries out so quick and get dusty so I thought I'd try mixing the two together. Or have half and half in each end of the table.
