Put simply; I hope!
The term Turtle in American nomenclature described all Chelonian forms. That is to say,
Turtles, Terrapins and Tortoises.
However, as we in England tend to use the parlance:
1. Turtle = Marine living Chelonian
2. Terrapin= Freshwater, or semi terrestrial Chelonian
3. Tortoise= Terrestrial Chelonian
