Oh dear, a return to this subject!
I have had confirmation only this week of my worst fears. The area surrounding the infamous CARAPAX in Tuscany, where hundreds of unwanted pet Red eared Terrapins, were sent from the UK. Has established a significant population of feral Terrapins in the vicinity. |

imported turtles
About 4 pages ago Paul tried to galvanise some sort of response on the subject of how to manage the import of sliders and cooters which we are seeing now in great numbers.
Yesterday I saw a tank with some 20 cute little stripey things in a 2 foot tank. They were cheap. 3 were already dead and most of the rest will die within a year. If any survive they will become 25cm animals which will outgrow all tanks. Not many know how to nurture them least of all the sellers. Someone said He was rude, those that know him, know he wasnt and did not mean to be. Given the degeneration of this thread, should he have been more blunt? If you care then write to the BCG and ask them to get of their fat arses and start doing something practical about the legislation. Better still join and come to the general meeting and shout at them. Rom Last edited by romski; 01-10-2009 at 11:06 PM. |
