Bob the Bug
This is Bob. He is my friend. He likes warm tortoise shells and warm wood. He visits most days.
Bob is a dragonfly. If someone knows which type please let me know. He is very friendly. CB

thank you Merlin, nice of you. and Matt. he is quite exquisite isn't he. I wonder how long they live. They come every year. The big blue ones are huge and bit scarey zipping round the garden like nuts.
honestly not got a really good camera or expensive even I think its the lens is good, and I practice practice practice. CB

am I right in thinking they don't live very long as a flying insect but far longer as an underwater predator before changing and if I'm right they are a nasty predator to many things. I know my dad used to remove the lavae from his pond if found as they would eat parts of the goldfish and if I remember right they aren't as attractive as the adult.

It is not uncommon for the juvenile stage of insects to be much longer than the adult stage

thank you wyannis. he is v friendly. kept flying back where I was.
Are we saying Bob would nibble at goldfish as a food source or when growing up. They wouldn't just dive bomb them though would they? some of them are huge flying in the garden.....CB
