Summer time is for Tortoises
Loving 2nd burst of dandelions they are so exquisite. And she is still eating buttercups......
I don't want it to be over...it has hardly began this year. Lets hope the summer plume lasts til October, what's the chances. CB

As per normal lovely pictures.
The swifts have gone from around here so in my eyes that's summer drawing to a close. |

Thanks G, but that's sad isn't it. Where do they go? Rio I suspect for the warmth.
I can't believe they will all be winding down soon, and the clematis will die back under the bench. I put plastic on the bench and it acts as a greenhouse of sorts. All kinds of bugs and things including Beau !

Lovely pictures as usual, BUT can we please not wish summer away, it's still August so it's still summer. The swallows in Lincolnshire are still swooping across the fields , eating insects, Im sure they are getting ready to go, but they haven't gone yet. Summer is still here!

Lovely pictures.
Summer is still here as I am sitting here in my shorts. Also, I have lots of cosmos that is just about to flower as I planted the seeds too late as usual. So summer flowers still to come. I'm ignoring it is a little darker and thinking we are a long way off darkness at 4pm. Also suddenly got lots of dandelions again.

Gorgeous photos - but I wouldn't expect any different.
Love the dandy ones - hope you made a wish as the seeds blew away. The nights are definitely drawing in but I have to say this is the driest August I can remember in a while. Let's hope summer draws on into September. Autumn is my favourite season and I'm incredibly excited about it this year but as we've been so busy I'm hoping for a few days lazing in the garden first. A BBQ today for us - just a bog-standard hot dogs, burgers, chicken and belly pork for the kids to enjoy. We did a 'posh' BBQ this week with steak, potatoes and suchlike for family members but a more relaxing 'eat with your fingers' one today. Then marshmallows on sticks for the kids to enjoy over the embers. Should be fun.

Fab pictures Claire and good idea I might pinch with the plastic on the bench!
