Bulb or ceramic heater?
I am buying a new heat source for my table and wondered if there is any difference to the tortoises between a ceramic heater and bulb? I thought that the heater would be more natural as there wouldn't be the extra light but wanted to get some more experienced opinions. Also is one more efficient energy wise and would they both produce the same temperatures
Thanks |

What are you using for a light source instead of the bulb?
If you are using a tube or compact fluorescent for UV, they don't generally put out enough light (LUX) to make it bright enough for a tort, so the bulb is a good idea. The ceramic heater will probably be slightly more energy efficient and will last longer than a bulb, but most people only use them for providing extra heat at night, when you wouldn't want the extra light. |

I have the a tube and currently a bulb for heat but the bulb is a little strong so I was going to buy a lesser watt one to stop the temperature getting to hot but wondered if the ceramic heater would be better than having a light on all the time.
