Heidi's trip to the vets
I took Heidi to the vets tonight for a check up as bubbles come out of her eyes when she eats wet food and she kept breathing with her mouth open and making weird sounds but with no sign of bubbles from the nose. So I took her for her first vets appointment and the vet said she's in really good condition which made me feel better and said she was a really good weight. I explained the problem she's been having and after checking her over thoroughly he told me she has really small nostrils (I can't remember the tortoise name for them lol) and that the problem is probably that as she's eating the air and and water from the food can't come out of her nose so it's coming through her eyes, hence the bubbles. He also said that's why she will be breathing with her mouth open sometimes as she can't get a lot of air through her nose. He said she's ok and as she grows hopefully they will open up, I'm just really glad she's ok and it wasn't an infection !
I also took Sheldon to be checked over and he said he's in great condition too and that he hasn't got anymore pyramiding (which he already had when I brought him) so hopefully I've managed to stop it getting worse . He said Sheldon is also a really good weight which is good to hear ! One thing he did say though is it looks like he's got a deformed tail because the end points up so it has a kink in it. But other then those things they are both looking good
