It is indeed great to see so many old names in this thread! Have you been away somewhere nice, Becci?
I bet your torts have grown!!

That wine sounds delicious - strawberry and lime. Must look for it.

You know, I read my other thread in complete shock the other day. A simple comment was attacked relentlessly. All anyone had to say was, oops, sorry, misread it. But where's the fun in that? Let's just bully someone instead.

Make's no odds to me, I'm old enough and wise enough to take it on the chin. But had I been some kid coming here for advice, who knows?

You do realise your comment has been completely ignored? Anyway, onward and upward, it's not a first world problem. I've had a super evening out with my husband and friends.

Leave em' too it. X

Yes, I can imagine. I have been verbally attacked on this forum a few times, and I am not the only one. In fact, when it happened to me, a few people posted me a message of support, but no one dared to speak up, otherwise they may be the next.

Of course I realise that they ignored my comment, but what do you want them to say? Those few individuals who are either lacking social skills, or always get 'carried away' (or whatever is their excuse for bullying others) will never admit that they are wrong. The others will rather not get involved, otherwise it will be them, next time. I still believe that the forum is a great thing. One can't judge the forum from actions of a few individuals. It's a pity that those individuals seem to take over in the last year or so. It didn't used to be like this.

Have you really? I'm sorry to hear that, and it's sad because it really is a great place for information. It's helped me out heaps of times.

I did intend to just log out and stay logged out but there's a girl on here I know and she pm'd me a message of support as well and then of course I decided to have a read. I can take it. Felt a bit humiliated at first but decided to put my big girl pants on and let it go.

Sad that it's taken this for there to be any sign of decent activity on here, eh?

That's the difference. Before I used to enjoy coming here and spent here much more time. Now I come here only irregularly, when I want to find out something. So I use it, but I don't socialise here and I think that's how the majority of people use it here. That's why it has so many members but so few of them active. I wonder how many other people experienced the same and stopped coming. Pity!

I can't stress enough what a great source of info this place is, but my advice to Newbies is, unless you're made of strong stuff, keep your head down and your mouth shut.

That isn't me though. There was NO way I was going to not pull them all up on their little attempt to humiliate me and the more members of their gang that logged in after god knows how long was quite frankly amusing. Oh, and a little pathetic.

Got a friend who makes forums for a living. Might get him to start me one and make it a friendly Tortoise forum. You in?

Don't do that. If a few individuals make you leave forum that is generally pretty good (if we discount several posts from those few individuals), you are letting them win. I am making point of skipping over their posts and read only posts from others now. But why would you want to give them the power of making you leave?

What this forum is missing is the button 'ignore'. Then you could put certain posters on ignore and their posts wouldn't be showing to you. That would make life more pleasant.

Hi Emma.Yes a took a break but came back, also due to bullying.Hope you are well and torts too!!
Normally these threads on the forum are removed and covered up by a select few, strange.
Hopefully the nice weather will make our shelled friends more active and bring more of the old members back and let's welcome the newcomers as they need advice and support

Hello, sadly not anywhere nice, yes they have all grown loads! I will take some photos and upload them, hopefully later on today. My hubby did a great job of looking after them! xxx
