If you travel from the South east of the UK, It takes approx 41/2, - 5 hours to drive to Hamm from Calais. There are alternative crossings at Harwich, and Hull, and these can be shorter drives to Hamm once one arrives in Holland on the ferry.
However, on the 11th April 2010, there is a show in Houten, Holland, which in my opinion is equally exciting to visit. Much less crowded, and lots of interesting animals to see. During a weekend trip to Holland it is also possible to take in Rotterdam Zoo which is well worth a visit. |

Hmmm I can't rmember Bindi, I think about 8 hours from Birchanger, which was my pick up point. To bring your torts back you take or buy there a polythene box and heat packs. People brought back all sort like lizards, snakes and spiders. The girl sat next to me bought over 20 spiders.
You mostly put your poly boxes under the coach in the hold, which can get cold so you need the heat packs. People also brought their purchases on the coach tho. Someone brought their new snake on and the girl near me had her gekos in her bag. My new torts arrived safe and sound, nice and warm too. They ate that very night and have settled right in.

Hi
Just wondering if anyone went to the rep show in Holland. I'm pretty new to tort keeping but would absolutely love to go to a rep show - really to see what books I could get my hands on and learn about husbandry techniques etc. Just wondering if anyone would especially recommed any forthcoming shows? What's best abroad and what shows are worth visiting in the uk? Thanks SS |

European shows are many and varied. To get an up to date list of these events, try Reptilia Magazine, it has an agenda of shows and events, throughout the year, in Europe and other parts of the world. |
