Oh Jackie, i think you should stay away from that site hun, it really upsets you doesn't it?
At least the owner has said he "hasn't got time for the little guy", rather that saying he just doesn't want him! Maybe someone who has got the time and love will take him on soon!!! |

I know what you mean Jackie, it's not that they are advertised for sale, it's more the fact that the money matters more than making sure that the tort goes to a good home.
I have in the past (probably a bit naughty - but never mind - I have broad shoulders) reminded advertisers that there are really going rehoming services such as SW, TPG and the TT of course. I have also emailed them care sheets to pass on to the next owners. I am probably over stepping the mark and may affend people, but it does my conscience and blood pressure the world of good. I justify it by letting myself think that I am acting in the best interest of the tort. I too have stopped visiting these sites |

Hmmm, this is my take on it, and I may be completely wrong (so sorry to
the seller if I am!!), but I'm not sure they're selling him because they don't have time for the little guy! I'm wondering if it's a dealer trying to get rid of some, because in the picture there is a tortoise on either side of this one, so why aren't they selling them all (and they're not selling them, because I checked the other listings!!). Also, if they just haven't got time for him (but have time for the others!) why do they want rid before 1st January. All a bit odd to me, but maybe I'm just not very trusting!!! |

Just thought it might put Jackie's mind at rest to know that it might not
be someone's pet they are getting rid of. I'm probably a bit sad, but I'm suspicious of most things online! I answered an ad once on preloved for a horsfield hatchling from a 'breeder', but as soon as i started to ask questions he never replied to me anymore!! |
