Good things happening in London tonight. Communities out protecting their areas. *Helped by 16,000 police I suppose but we even had millwall and charlton fans seeing off rioters in Eltham.

It was initiated from the gangster in Tottenham who waved a (real and loaded) gun at police - so they shot him, and he died on saturday.
As it has since transpired he didn't fire the gun... but quite frankly if you're going to wave a loaded gun at a stack of armed police, what possible outcome would you expect?!! that was the root of the tottenham riots, the rest are copycat opportunistic criminals, trying to vaguely find a thinly veiled political motivation for theiving. One interview I saw said "we don't get enough benefits to buy these things, it's the governments fault"... WTF? Really though, there is no motivation, other than a 'free' ride, and a perceived thought of not getting caught.

The news here in the states say the riots are due to people being angry over the "rich" having "everything" and people want FREE housing, food, education, claiming that those items and more are "rights". ????

that probably stems from two girls being interviewed and one of them said it was okay to rob the shops because they are rich. So someone has made that into a story I think

Has anyone watched the sky news special "looters"? I'm still checking the credits to see if Chris Morris was involved. *Its like the best episode of Brasseye ever.
No one, please tell me, no one can be that morally defunct, that *out of touch with reality, that STUPID. Quote: "We did it coz the government is cutting our parents taxes". This should get a BAFTA for best comedy script. Then I see the channel 4 debate that tries to convince me that as a working, tax paying, white male this is really all my fault. Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggghhhhh. I'm going to get a mohican and start driving a taxi at this rate. I'm turning into Travis Bickle. Last edited by Kirkie; 14-08-2011 at 01:12 PM. If carlsberg did prime ministers I should hope they would be better than David Cameron and his band of tories who got us into the mess that has brought upon so much unrest.

Really? I'm not a political animal myself, *I really don't see a lot of difference between any of them, but this hasn't happened because of the last year. *These kid's were 16-17 years old. They've been through a school system and onto a wefare system that has nothing to do with the conservatives I'm afraid.
One good point made on C4 last night, its about individual responsibilty to oneself. |
