its a lovely drink danny a bit old fashioned so much it has now become very fashionable its brown like coke but much much better tasting ill send you some along with real licquorice |

Dan if you cut the root stubs of with about and 2 inches of the plant intacted and stand in a small water container they will re-root and can be planted in tubs where the plant will regrow.
The Chicory you have is just one of the domestic vareties available they come in a huge amount of domestic varieties used for human consumption. Chicory is an excellentfood item and high in vitamin A and natyral calcium almost equal to if not equal to dandelion, I use chicory on a regular basis my tortoises love it. Some other forms of domestic chicory it does look like dandelion , it does become rather leggy if left to flower , it has a very attractive blue daisy type flower.

I use chicory as a feed also ,mainly in winter when the weeds are scarce, they do love it though

I buy them, too! Esp. in Winter, they are a lifesaver. We don't have weeds around here in the winter at all!
