Default pelleted diet

A recent thread was closed for some unknown reason without the question being answered.

For those dead set against formulated diets... why are they bad for tortoises?

it was closed because the OP didn't want a debate and the question had been answered away back on about post 3 or something

It was actually post 4 but that fits into the 'or something'.

It bothers me that the question really was not answered and the post was closed. It is a very valid question in that there are many who stress a 'natural diet' without a concrete reason.

That was my post, I'm so proud. I knew it wouldn't end there though.

They could do a search though and that would bring up the near 500 post pellet thread which was about 6 months ago...that discussed it all I think. More than enough info on that thread for any owner to digest and make a decision. That one was BeatBeat's thread I think...

...just saying xx

I feed mine both pellets and weeds. IMO i think both diets are just as good as each other. I would never tell anyone weeds/pellets are better nor would i force my opinion on anyone. Its down to what ever the owner thinks is best for their tort and themselves

I'm surprised you didn't post in the tortoise garden thread Ed, I was wondering what you might have made of the Sulcatas mentioned by your friend Mr A C Highfield
