Not sure what you mean by 3 in 1 bulb, never heard of that like but anyway at the moment Megaray is the one that last longest in giving out useful UVB, Solarglo you'd need to replace at 6 months and I don't know about Powersuns at all as I've never had one

From personal experience and various post on here about problems with all the various combined bulbs, I don't think there is much to chose between any of them.

By 3-in-1 I get the impression that these bulbs emit UVA, UVB and heat?

there are also metal halide bulbs but again you'd be replacing at 6 months or before

Ah right. If you tied me up and held a gun to my head or placed a strawberry trifle in front of me (or better still a fish supper ) just out of reach and asked me to name a bulb, I'd say Megaray based on what I've got, what I've had and what I've read

I'm always trying new bulbs and at the moment, I've gotta say the Megaray self ballasting MVB's are still edging it.
I've just ordered a T Rex Active UV Heat Bulb 100W Flood to try out, should be comparable to the Megaray, I'll let you know. In a lunatic move I'm also awaiting a Osram Ultra Vitalux 300w to arrive but you really need a UV meter to incorporate one of these without flooding your animals with UV. Wouldn't go for any halide bulb at the moment, they need to work on the UVB lifespan of the bulb. I haven't used a Powersun for a while but did a few years back. They were ok but tended to fail before their time |
