Default leopard substrate

As the title says. Just wondering what is the best substrate for a leopard tortoise

There is no 'best' substrate. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

For Leopards I'd sugges bermuda hay, aspen bedding, pinebard mulch, orchid bark, sand, soil or sand soil mix. I use aspen and/or bermuda hay bedding for the smaller Leopards and pine bark mulch with bermuda hay for the larger Leopards.

I used Aubiose hemp for my leopard and put carpet under her water dish and carpet under the slate to help it stop getting in the food and water dish.

My indoor areas have readi grass for the substrate as it is clean and dry and hold the heat, which is great.

I would use coco coir or peat moss mixed with topsoil. Mix it with water till it can be packed down solid and your good to go.

I use soil and reddy grass in there hide, I also tip a glass of water on the soil every few days

I use tortoise life (soil mix) then bedding is grass which they often have a munch at.
