Bath Temps????
Hi,
Just wondering what temps you bath your torts at? I don't have any probs with my 2 with baths they really love it always falling asleep and totally stretched out doing superman legs with their back legs straight out behind them! Sooooo cute!!!!!! Well I bathe them with water temp at 36c-38c. Now this may seem really warm but temps in direct sun gets far hotter. Does anyone think this is too hot?????? Thanks, Row x |

To Be Honest i'm never sure what temps the tortoises baths are.
When they are in the shower i set the dial to 5.5 for my Leopard & 4.5 for the Hermann's.Those are the temps that they'll go to sleep while having a shower,Will have to get the Thermometer out. |

I go for 28-30deg and put the bath in the basking light spot area - which maybe slightly warmer. That way the water stays nice and toastie.

I don't measure the temps of my tort's bath, if it's nice and warm on my hand - warm, not hot, then they seem settled and happy in it

I don't measure it either but have it as Bindi does.
Herpard, I'm not sure that a shower is ideal. Not sure if they'd be able to drink in a shower but if they did it may be a bit soapy or even have cleaning fluids hanging around in it unless it is a shower especially for the torts is it? |

I use the baby water testing method. Stick your elbow in it. I make it a bit warmer for my adult and top it up regularly as he stays in for longer than the baby.
