I was in Sutton Benger village Hall at the end of Feb for a 50th Birthday, infact my friends bought there house from a lady who bred torts. every time i come to Sutton Benger i wonder if the tortoise lady is still there.

If Diana does go it would be appropriate to thank her for all the years of service she gave the BCG as Secretary. Such a pity that the membership have not only not been told but no recognition given.

Can somene tell me if its difficult to raise a tortoise from young ? I have a mature one and so he just maintains the same shell size each year. Is there an ideal age to start with in baby tortoises? Is there a high death rate even if you give them right conditions etc?? amph55

Of course, she has given decades of service as secretary to the BCG. She also makes very good outdoor Tortoise houses which I am sure that members and visitors to the Wiltshire group might like to consider too?
